Fun Evidence that Macro Counting Works

This is going to blow your mind. Need proof that IIFYM works? Here it is.

Melanie is basically the hottest girl I know. From anywhere. Ever. For the last 12 months straight, Melanie has gone to the gym every-day for 1 to 2 hours (averaging about 8 hours per week). She’s been doing a pretty good mix of cardio and strength-training while there. She was also eating almost no carbs, and a fairly limited number of calories each day.

About 6 months ago she hit a plateau. She weighed 150 lbs. The weight stopped coming off, and her body basically stopped adjusting. Melanie naturally assumed she had reached her peak condition.

Yeah. Eating more calories, more protein, and more carbs basically gave her body the right mixture of fuel that it needed to take her existing workouts and do what they were meant to do: burn fat and build muscle. Now, she weighs 135 lbs. A near-perfect 2lbs per week of weight-loss during that 7-week period and, thanks to the added protein, the new muscle definition is pretty clear.

IIFYM works people. Give it a shot if you are stuck in a plateau. It is insane how a shift in ratios will drastically change the way your body looks and feels. Take it from Melanie.
